Our Story
We are a family-run business going back 4-5 generations, over 116 years in the beekeeping industry.
The original family business started Around 1906, and it is Currently still run today by Trevor Harvey (dad's cousin) In the little town of Stuart Mill, where H. C HARVEY AND SONS began.
My dad (Ken) and grandfather (Leslie) shared with me all their wisdom and knowledge on bees, trees, and honey on the many trips that I went out bush with them and when I used to watch them make new bee equipment in the shed while growing up.
My family has worked our bees in the Grampians area for about 60 years. I also work as far north as Mildura and right down to the coast and the many regions in between in the western half of the state.
We also do almond pollination in August each year near Robinvail.
I’ve been working bees full time since I left high school 31 years ago; back then, we used to load the hives by hand and trolleys one at a time on an old 400 series dodge truck.
These days we run a more modern truck and use mini loaders to lift four hives at a time on pallets, which has improved things greatly.
I live in Stawell with my wife Lisa and our two boys and hope they will follow the family tradition also.
Our honey is 100% pure honey!
Locally
Our honey, beeswax and beeswax products are made locally and produced. We attend Ararat trash and treasure market the first Sunday of the month and Pomonal village market the last Sunday of the month. We deliver free to Stawell, Ararat, Pomonal and Halls Gap.
Our honeys change with the seasons and the honey flows.
